Jié) is an annual winter festival that takes place with a theme in HarbinHeilongjiangChina, and now is the largest ice and snow festival in the world. At first participants in the festival were mainly Chinese, however it has since become an international festival and competition. The festival includes the world's biggest ice sculptures

Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Harbin - Yabul

    Drive to Yabuli, the biggest and best ski resort in China, which provides great skiing with high mountains and excellent snow. After lunch you will have many optional activities to enjoy (activity fees not included). You can take the cable car to climb up the summit of the mountain to get a commanding view of the stunning snowscape, then take the longest slideway in the world down the mountain, this is a breathtaking adventure! Also you can take part in some interesting snow activities, such as Alpine skiing, snowmobile driving, tyre sliding, dog sledding or arrow shooting.

  • Day 2 : Yabuli - Harbin

    Around 9:00am, meet the guide and drive about 3 hours to visit Jin Dynasty Shangjing History Museum and the catacombs of the founder of Jin Dynasty, Wanyanaguda (Wan-yen A-ku-ta, 1068-1123). You will have a chance to learn about the local minority’s history. On arrival in Harbin, free at leisure for the rest of the day.

  • Day 3 : Harbin

    After breakfast, pay a morning visit to the The Central Street, also known the Zhongyang Street, which was originally built in 1898 when there were abundant of Russian business man in Harbin, China. The Central Street is considered as the architectural art galley: Baroque and byzantine lining both sides, including Russian bakeries, French fashion houses and Japanese restaurants and so on. It's a good place to see architectural styles as well as for shopping and taste different Cuisine. Harbin Flood Control Memorial Tower is a landmark in Harbin. It is on the opposite side of the Zhongyang Pedestrian Center Street.Then you will visit Stalin Park. Stalin Park a good place for local people to enjoy leisure.It become an ice activities center in winter. There are all sorts of ice related sports such as ice swimming, ice skating, ice hockey and ice sailing and so on.Then our guide will escort to see the winter swimming performance. As the Ice City, Harbin is a ideal place to have winter swimming activities. The average temperature here is -18 °C in winter and many local people had get used to take winter swimming. In the afternoon you will visit the Harbin Ice and Snow Happy Valley. The Songhua River Ice and Snow Happy Valley puts sightseeing, entertainment and interesting activities into a large comprehensive park in a professional way. Apart from tasting all kinds of snack foods, watching ice sculptures, snow sculptures and cultural performance, visitors can enjoy many interesting ice and snow activities, such as spinning top, ice bicycle, skating, tire sliding, rock-climbing, ice karting, dog-sledging, curling stone, ice bumper cars, Counter Strike Cosplay, snow football, and so on. In the evening you will go to visit the Ice and Snow World. Located on the north bank of the Songhua River, the Ice and Snow Amusement World is a major attraction of Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival dunging the winter. There are full of awesome ice and snow sculptures created by artists from all around world. Kind note that please wear enough layers of proper clothes and warm shoes to keep you away form the freeze especially when you want to stay there longer to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

  • Day 4 : Harbin

    After breakfast, pay a morning visit to the Harbin St Sophia Cathedral church. With Byzantine style and meaning of God's wisdom for name, the church look so beautiful as if it had been made by God's hands. The church's original shape and Latin cross footprint was preserved during reconstruction.It was first built in 1907 and rebuilt into brick and wood structure in 1912. It is the largest Orthodox Church in the Far East.Then Gogol Street is a street with a strong Russian flavor. There are flocks of Russian architecture.In the afternoon you will visit the Sun Island Scenic Area to see the Harbin International Snow Sculpture Art Expo. When it comes to winter the island will be covered by thick snow and there will be a world-famous snow sculpture show: International Snow Sculpture Art Expo. There are various of massive, huge snow sculptures which is so impressive and amazing. Then you will make an safari-style adventure in the Harbin Grand Theatre ,you will love architecture and this is definitely a gem. It was Harbin Theatre that brought us to Harbin. We love Architect Ma Yan Song's design for example, Harbin Grand Theatre and his Marilyn Monroe buildings in Canada.Visit the Harbin Theatre if you are also an architecture lover. You was really excited by the architecture of the building. It was really nice an unexpected.In the evening you will go to visit the Zhaolin Park Ice Lantern Show (admission not included). Watch the Ice Lantern Art Fair at Zhaolin Park. The magical and extraordinary ice lanterns and sculptures have literally made the park an icy wonderland.With the vigorous propaganda by the global media, the Harbin Ice Lantern Show has become Harbin's main claim to fame these years. Every January, Zhaolin Park becomes home to extraordinarily detailed, imaginative and downright wacky snow and ice sculptures. They range from huge recreations of iconic buildings and world-famous figures to animals and interpretations of ancient legends.
